What do the conditions mean?
Our conditions mean the following:
- New - a brand new book
- Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
- Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
- Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
- Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Comme l'eau qui coule est un recueil de trois nouvelles, dont la première, Anna, soror..., se trouve republiée sans changement important et dont les deux autres ont été entièrement composées entre 1979 et 1981. En fait, ces trois oeuvres ont occupé Marguerite Yourcenar pendant une grande partie de sa vie.Écrit en 1925, inclus en 1935 dans le recueil La mort conduit l'attelage, publié isolément en 1981, Anna, soror... a pour sujet l'inceste entre un frère et une soeur et se situe à Naples, au XVIᵉ siècle.La vie et la mort de Nathanaël, dans la Hollande du XVIIᵉ siècle, est le sujet d'Un homme obscur. Un homme simple, presque sans culture, "levant sur le monde un regard d'autant plus clair qu'il est plus incapable d'orgueil".Le héros d'Une belle matinée est Lazare, le fils de Nathanaël, un enfant mêlé à une troupe de comédiens shakespeariens. À travers les brochures du théâtre élisabéthain, le petite Lazare vit d'avance toute vie : tour à tour fille et garçon, jeune homme et vieillard, enfant assassiné et brute assassine, roi et mendiant, prince vêtu de noir et bouffon bariolé du prince.
