Condition: Standard Secondhand — £1.00
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

"It is the last weekend in September during the summer of 1991 and a political decision to be announced in California will have far-reaching effects on America's lesbian and gay community. In a cabin in a Southern California mountain resort four people wait in mutual antagonism for Donnelly, the woman who summoned them there, the woman with whom they have all shared a part of their lives. Publisher Bradley Jones was once married to her; cabin owner Pat Decker took her away only to lose her to Averill Calder Harmon-- a top professional golfer terrified of exposure as a lesbian. Querida Quemada is a good looking, successful young Chicana professional and Donnelly's current partner. The tension in the cabin reaches fever pitch as old hurts and new attractions are played out while the group awaits the all important decision. And when it finally comes they know that nothing will ever be quite the same again." -- Back cover.
