After the Bloom

Condition: Standard Secondhand — £763.47
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Mary Napoli is the mother of Joey, a thirty-year old man, who is virtually a perpetual teenager, prone to horrible tantrums, caused by a mental illness that falls somewhere on the Autism spectrum, and she is his only hope for survival. Her youngest son, Nicky, is throwing his life away on drugs, his shining, comedic career, and loving girlfriend, all but disappearing like the cocaine he puts up his nose, and all she seems to be able to do, is continue to enable his bad habits. Rick Napoli, her husband, is a handsome news anchor, whose devotion to his career, and work life is something she's had to learn to accept, because there is no devotion left over for her, or their sons. When tragedy strikes, Mary's strength will continue to hold the family together, but will she realize she holds a greater power within her soul, a legacy she's carried, since the days of her grandfather's tales, a force so incredible, it can literally change the course of their lives? Can her acknowledgement, and belief in the magic of her grandfather's god of the lilacs, uncover the life he'd promised she was meant to live, or was it simply just another fairy tale told to a child by a beloved old man?
