Applying Psychology To Early Child Development

Condition: Poor Condition — £1.00
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

This text is part of a series aimed at A Level and first-year undergraduates. The series has been developed for the new Oxford and Cambridge A Level syllabus, but it is also suitable for AEB and NEAB Psychology A Level. The main aim of the series is to introduce students new to the discipline of psychology to the ways in which psychological theory and research can be applied to everyday life. The book is written in an accessible style for students of all abilities. The various approaches to child development is examined in this book. It looks at the possible methods of studying children which have been used to gather data on child development. The stages of social and moral development are studied in detail and several theories can be applied to the real world. Influences on children such as media and parents are examined, along with the effects of separation, deprivation and childcare. Finally, the book looks in detail at atypical child development, focusing on such areas as physical handicap, illness, psychological disorders, and behavioural problems.
