What do the conditions mean?
Our conditions mean the following:
- New - a brand new book
- Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
- Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
- Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
- Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Cette édition propose un choix de poèmes réalisé par Celan lui-même. C'est le parcours de l'auteur dans son oeuvre. L'extrême dispersion des éditions de Celan en français confère à ce livre une fonction d'éclaireur, de viatique. Celui-ci invite à plus qu'à la découverte d'un poète majeur de ce siècle - il favorise une approche qui se change en reconnaissance. À l'effrayante question - comment écrire après Auschwitz? Celan répond - en usant du langage de la mort. Car il eut à affronter et à vivre l'un des plus tragiques paradoxes qui soit - sa langue maternelle, l'allemand, est à la fois celle qui fonde sa culture et son identité, mais aussi celle qui régit le camp d'extermination où disparaissent ses propres parents. Et pourtant, Celan ne peut sans 'mentir' (c'est lui qui le note) se soustraire à cette langue de l'enfance et de l'oppression mêlées.
