What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

(Coastal Greek waters have been well utilized for centuries by professional fishermen. In the past few years, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of recreational fishermen and tourists which has resulted in an increased interest in marine life. The recent world-wide concern for environmental issues has also greatly contributed to the increased attention given to the marine environment of Greece. As a result there is a need for literature which provides information about marine ecosystems and organisms in Greek waters. This book provides a valuable and accurate resource for tourists, divers, sport fishermen and ichthyologists to identify some of the common species of fishes which may be encountered in Greek waters. In addition general information about the life history of each fish described is included. To aid in the identification of each fish, a colour photograph as well as a drawing of each fish with extended fins and defined makings is provided)
