Jo flees to Delhi in a quest for freedom, without telling her demanding family or possessive boyfriend, Rob. En route to a retreat in the Himalayas she makes friends with other travellers, some of whom are also venturing to the Jasanghari retreat.

In the beautiful surroundings of a former palace with the snow-capped mountains as a backdrop, Jo has the time and space to reflect on her life and see that many of her problems were of her own making, particularly her inability to speak her truth. Unshackled from her relationship with Rob, she revels in her new-found independence.

Yet even paradise has its challenges, with a love triangle dilemma developing, and an unwelcome visit from her brother, whose inability to communicate causes rows and tension. He also reveals secrets about their parents' marriage, rocking Jo's freshly acquired peace of mind. Can she find her way back to the path of emerging awareness and growth that she has embarked on?

Finding Jo focuses on relationships between families, lovers and friends, and the resentment and long-held beliefs that threaten to destroy them. Jo's quest for a deeper purpose in life acts as a catalyst to other family members, indicating that willingness to change and grow enables people to find happiness.
