For The Silent

Format: Paperback

Condition: Standard Secondhand — £1.00
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

MORNING STAR 21st Century Poetry; Best of 2019: Poetry FOR THE SILENT has been included in the Best of 2019! For The Silent is an anthology of poems which celebrate the natural world, condemn the cruelty of blood sports and speak out for the silent creatures in our countryside. Profits from the sales go to aid the work of the UK s foremost animal welfare campaigners League Against Cruel Sports. The idea of Indigo Dreams Ronnie Goodyer, who is also the first Poet-in-Residence for the League, the call for submissions brought many hundreds which were edited down over three months. All poets with agents or publishers for the featured poems gave permission for free to assist in the cause. With so many illegal sports continuing today, the rise in dog-fighting over recent years and the toll on wildlife caused by Trophy Hunting, it is an anthology that is long overdue.
