Fun for a Fiver in London

Format: Paperback

Condition: Very Good — £1.00
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

How to get the most out of the capital city for almost nothing.London has a reputation for being one of the most expensive cities in the world, but in fact it's packed with things to do for less than £5 - and many of these are absolutely free. This book lists hundreds of things to do and places to see, and many of them give a better glimpse into the history of the capital and the way it really works today than many of the more obvious tourist destinations. Around 70 subject sections cover parks, museums, annual events, food, drink, a selection of walks, music and other free entertainment venues, special seasonal happenings, and so on. There is a geographical index for easy planning, and suggested itineraries for eg a family day in the East End, Greenwich, looking at city churches, places associated with royalty, etc. Indispensable for tourist and London resident alike!
