What do the conditions mean?
Our conditions mean the following:
- New - a brand new book
- Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
- Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
- Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
- Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

How the City of London Works - An Introduction to its Financial Markets is a straightforward companion for anyone who comes into contact with the City's financial markets and institutions, either as part of their studies, professional training or as a general reader. Now in its seventh edition, the work: uses diagrams, maps and illustrations to explain the often-complex systems and regulations within the financial and other markets of the City of London; places a stronger emphasis on the activities of hedge funds and private equity firms than in previous editions; continues to examine how US incursions have changed the ownership of the main operators in the City, especially the merchant banks; examines how the City has enhanced its position in the world after the introduction of the Euro and looks at the clear lead that London has now established over New York; and includes a glossary of technical terms used within the City. -- Publisher's website.
