Format: Paperback

Condition: Standard Secondhand — £30.91
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

"The most often used yet least understood aspect of human development must surely by that of intelligence. This study will provide an up-to-date and readable introduction to some of the many complex issues which concern this aspect of learning and development. Intended for those concerned with the developing abilities of children, the study is a primer and an introduction not only to the concept of intelligence itself but also to the technical and to the educational aspects of the subject. David Pyle brings together and critically discusses various views of intelligence, including the psychometric, the developmental and behavioural, and also examines recent innovatory work on the subject, including new methods of assessing intelligence and controversial evidence on the effects of environment on IQ scores. An extensive further reading list is provided for those who wish to extend their knowledge further" -- Dust jacket.
