Introduction to Education Studies (Education StudiesKey Issues Series)

Format: Paperback

Condition: Standard Secondhand — £1.50
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Education Studies is a broad, multi-disciplinary and rapidly growing field. Now fully updated, Introduction to Education Studies has proven itself to be the key text for novices in the field for over a decade, leading readers through the field's key strands, concepts and applications without assuming any prior knowledge.

Bartlett and Burton provide first-time students with all the tools that they need to approach Education Studies and also encourage a critical, questioning approach which will put them in good stead for further study and professional practice.

The new edition includes:

-A new chapter on 'SEN and Inclusion'.

-A new chapter on the 'Historical Context of Education Policy.

-A new chapter on 'Citizenship Education'.

-More international, comparative examples

The book will also be even easier to use than in previous editions, with thorough improvements to its structure and design.

Steve Bartlett is Professor of Education Studies at the University of Wolverhampton.

Diana Burton is Professor of Education and Pro Vice Chancellor at Liverpool John Moores University.
