What do the conditions mean?
Our conditions mean the following:
- New - a brand new book
- Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
- Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
- Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
- Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

A London thriller with twist and turns, discovers how the century old Ripper case can bring down the Monarchy!
"JACK is a thrilling story of conspiracy and murder, celebrating the grim and glory of Britain's' capital city, and the heights and depths of its society."
★★★★★"A real page turner!" - Amazon
New evidence has come to light that implicates the British Royal family in the heinous historic crimes of Jack the Ripper. James Kent, their charming associate, is forced to team up with the deft Alice Gull to lead a new investigation into the world's most infamous murders.
They soon find that the Ripper murders are just the tip of the iceberg among a mass of secrets and dark forces. But just how far will these mysterious forces go to keep James and Alice from uncovering the truth and threatening the monarchy?
With Alice implicated by descent, will her family ties to the case cloud her judgement or can she help solve history's most infamous murders and clear her family's name for good.
This captivating thriller has been described as "Dan Brown meets Jack the Ripper". Author Max McBridge skilfully weaves through fact and fiction, combining his impeccable knowledge of the history of London with a daring modern day conspiracy. A gripping ride, which will make you question everything you know about the English ruling class.
This book is dedicated to the people of London who show the world that an open and inclusive city is possible. Still more needs to be done and therefore £1 of this book's purchase goes direct to charities which help to close the gap between those who can afford the rich opportunities of this great city and those who are increasingly left behind.
