What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Packed with useful information, tips and recommendations, this pocket-sized guide is accompanied by colour photographs, charts and maps for the first-time traveller who wants to experience the major highlights that Tanzania has to offer. The guide provides a concise introduction to the country's must see areas, encouraging the tourist to make the most of his/her available time. All the essential information for getting around an unfamiliar country is compacted into practical at a glance sections at the end of each chapter and a fold-out map ideal for tourists and visitors is included. In addition to the main map of Tanzania, it features 14 detailed area maps and 17 town plans. The guide uses a three-star grading system for tourist attractions, colour coded for easy reference, and provides practical information on getting around, accommodation, restaurants and tours, as well as contact numbers. The map also highlights scenic routes, showing nature reserves, parks and places of interest. It includes town plans of major tourist centres, showing hotels, climate charts, distance charts and calendars of events.
