What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Welcome to this fantastic collection of tennis themed puzzles for children, featuring a wide variety of puzzles and facts. If you love all things to do with tennis, then look no further. This book will be perfect for anyone passionate about this sport once played by kings.

This book contains a huge range of puzzles, including 50 word searches on topics including Andy Murray, Olympic medallists in tennis, Wimbledon champions, ATP and WTA #1 singles players, Davis Cup Winners and many more. Also included in the book are a variety of maths and word-based puzzles, including word wheels, hidden words, folded paper words, word ladders, hangman puzzles and snake words. These are all tennis-themed and include words such as baseline, tiebreak, moonball, topspin and groundstroke, among many more.

Tennis Themed Puzzles also includes a variety of facts that will be of interest to readers who love tennis. Did you know, for example, that the modern sport of tennis developed from real tennis, which was an indoor version of the sport in which the ball could be hit off the wall? Henry VIII famously played real tennis, and you can still visit his court today at Hampton Court Palace. Or that tennis players competing at Wimbledon are required to wear all-white clothing? Andre Agassi refused to play at Wimbledon from 1988 to 1990 because he disliked the white dress code!

Solutions are at the back of the book if you need a helping hand along the way.
