Condition: Poor Condition — £9.07
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

The Bhagavadgita, or Sacred Song holds an assured place among the world's great scriptures. Hindus regard it with the same respect and love as Christians regard the Gospels, seeking within it comfort and enligtenment. In fourteen hundred lines of verse the relationship of man with God-and the intense joy of divine love are celebrated, in language which is precise and beautiful. The Gita is a tale of action, taking the form of a dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna on the eve of a battle. Krishna teaches the fearful Arjuna the need for action and the requirement that he like all mankind take his place in the world in love and faith. Only through the search for God and the Absolute will the true self be discovered.

This edition of the Bhagavadgita offers the Sanskrit text as well as Professor Radhakrishnan's English translation and a commentary which has become a classic. His clear understanding of the profound wisdom contained within the Gita ensures the reader an equally clear vision of its powerful and eternal message. It is a message which cannot fail to touch the minds and spirits of all those who will reach for it.
