The Big Bang!World Book Day 2026

Format: Paperback

Condition: Standard Secondhand — £1.00
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

A heartwarming World Book Day story from Rose Ayling-Ellis about empathy, friendship and deaf awareness.

Uh oh! Where did Casper go?

When a noisy storm scares Halo and Rocky, Casper remains calm. But when lightning flashes, Casper dashes off, and the other kittens realise he is deaf! Can Halo and Rocky be brave, find Casper, and learn a new way to communicate with their friend?

The Big Bang! is a charming and accessible story for children aged 3-5 that teaches the importance of helping others - especially those with disabilities - fostering emotional intelligence early in life.

Inside this inclusive picture book, you'll find:

  • A story of empathy and understanding by award-winning actress, author, and presenter, and Rose Ayling-Ellis MBE.
  • An official World Book Day 2026 book that explores deafness in an age-appropriate way, created to promote reading, awareness and inclusivity.
  • An introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) with a page of useful illustrated signs to learn.
  • Adorable illustrations by bestselling, award-winning author-illustrator, Paddy Donnelly.

Perfect for World Book Day, this inspiring story opens up conversations about difference, communication and kindness.
