What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Too Much is a story about love and lust, fear and truth. It is about the dark, abusive pasts of an anxiety-ridden lost youth coming to terms with life in a distracted, over-sexualised, money-hungry society paradoxically disconnected by the internet.Pornography, consumerism, drugs, reality TV and the severe internal anguish that many face on a daily basis are all explored, in a quest to figure out the root of the mental health epidemic that plagues our current times. The story is centred around 4 mid-twenties school friends, the distance between them ever-increasing with age. The main character Liam is a porn addled, recreational-drug fiend with an insatiable foot fetish who wants out of the soul-sucking, corporate regime. Mike is a burnt-out computer programmer who longs for his girlfriend Sara's wandering affections, and lives amidst the fear that she will cheat again. Jim is a mechanic who fails to find love in a technological, temporary society, with high-speed driving his only means to feel free from the oppressive situation he finds himself in. Justin works strange early morning shifts as a baker and struggles to save for a house deposit with his girlfriend Melissa, a girlfriend who has other plans for his money. Stricken by the personal grief of losing his mum and (pushing away) Gina (the love of his life), Liam incessantly chases his desires with increasing depravation as he fails to face up to his fears. He sets to fulfilling his true pornography fantasy with the help of a prostitute. But the fantasy isn't what he thought it would be. Perspectives are flipped as death brings new meaning to the notion of life.
