Weeded and Honed(Simple Rhymes in Complex Times)
What do the conditions mean?
Our conditions mean the following:
- New - a brand new book
- Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
- Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
- Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
- Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

Isolde Hunter, part of the New York City's show biz scene in the Sixties, was a singer and actress. She began her singing career in coffee-houses in Greenwich Village, before getting her first break touring with Harry Belafonte and Lena Horne. Later she created her own act for night-clubs, which took her around the world. Ms. Hunter, widowed at thirty-two, an unexpected, first-time single-parent at forty-six, returned to college at age fifty-two. To make ends meet and pay a mortgage, she taught herself the antique business. This endeavor was shared by her determined little boy who today (she boasts!) has become a successful lawyer. In 2000, Ms. Hunter and her son relocated from the Poconos, Pa., to Florida where she opened an antique shop and worked 'til age seventy-nine. Now, at age eighty-three she has assembled a collection of many poems from her previously published three books plus fifty new ones assembled in a fresh presentation. This inclusive collection offers insight into the many aspects which eight decades of a challenging, but gratifying, life can bring. She dearly hopes some of her memories might reconnect readers with their own and bring some amusement, perhaps even inspiration. She gratefully thanks all her past and present readers for sharing her writing endeavors.
