William Klein ABC

Format: Hardback

Condition: Standard Secondhand — £28.12
What do the conditions mean?

Our conditions mean the following:

  • New - a brand new book
  • Almost New - appears new but is actually secondhand.
  • Very Good - only minor imperfections such as minor scuffs to edge or cover or a price written in pencil or shop sticker.
  • Standard Secondhand - Clearly been read before, but not too bad. We do not recommend these for gifting. Spines usually creased. Could also include creases or folds to cover, some writing such as in the cover or elsewhere, underlining or highlighting, but might not do. Possibly some stains or marks. Similar in general to books in any secondhand shop or charity shop.
  • Poor Condition - Usually this will have a specific problem such as writing inside, water damage, missing dust jacket, heavy staining, large creases or cuts. These are readable copies but not nice ones. On other websites this condition is called 'Acceptable' or 'Fair' , but we want to be more honest.

"Born in New York in 1928, William Klein is one of the leading photographers of the postwar era, as well as an influential filmmaker, painter, and graphic artist. This astonishing book, selected and designed by Klein himself, captures the essence of his life's work. It includes selections from his powerful photo books on New York, Moscow, Rome, Tokyo, and Paris; his dynamic fashion photography that used the city as a stage for glamour; stills and posters from his bitingly satirical films, including his send up of fashion magazines, Who Are You, Polly Magoo; and the graphically powerful painted contact sheets that he has exhibited around the world. Klein, whose achievement puts him on a level with Robert Frank, Richard Avedon, and Irving Penn, lives in Paris and is revered in Europe. This is the first comprehensive book on his work published in the United States in twenty years. "--Provided by publisher.
